I am enjoying the start of my fall 2013 book tour. As I said previously, interacting with readers is one of the best parts of writing. My days at the Big-E were wonderful. In addition to selling and signing a good number of books, many friends came by to say hello and previous readers stopped to say how much they enjoyed reading Amanda’s Room and looked forward to the next. By the way, the next book, Injured Angels, is in the works. I am writing a couple days a week at one of the prime settings for book. More on this to come.
I have modified my book tour information to include some additional days at the Apple Harvest Festival in Southington.
I have also included information on a special poetry program at the Southington Care Center. I helped to initiate the program because of my bias that people in care facilities should not have to passively receive services from others but should be given opportunities to create and share their talents. The administrators and staff at SCC share this philosophy and took the idea and greatly expanded upon it. The results have exceeded my expectations. Come to be amazed at the wonderful artistry of these people, some of whom are severely physically challenged, yet more emotionally and intellectually alive then many of us could hope to be.
As always, I am delighted to conduct readings and signings at bookstores, social club, and libraries and to facilitate discussions for book clubs. If you would like to schedule an event for your group, please contact me at email@example.com. Below is the updated schedule of events:
